It's a Friday the thirteenth edition of the Drunken Logic Podcast.  The show starts out with the guys revealing their new "drinking sound" ... a sound that will denote a time when everyone listening to the show will know it is time to take a drink.   After taking a shot, they talk about their picks in a NHL pool and then go on to discuss the playoffs itself.   They then talk about the media and weather forecasters and how bad they are for a bit.  Turn then talks to oil workers and meth. They then talk about superstitions and whether or not they are superstitious.  They then talk about their made up holiday, the time change party and what other new holidays they should create to make some really cool holidays.   Then they talk about old video game systems. They wrap their first segment with talk about trivia contests and how bad some are versus others.  They then come back and talk about a wide range of topics starting with phones and junk mail.  Talk of different generations then commences.  Talk about sex, especially when you were young and when you first watched porn.  After a break they focus in on drinking and what whiskey does to a person. Happy Easter! It's another Thursday Happy Hour edition of the Drunken Logic Podcast. The guys start out the show talking about when company parties use to be a drunken good time but that can longer happen in today's world. They then turn their focus towards hockey.  After talking about college hockey and UND's demise, they then talk NHL and the Sabre's chances at making the playoffs. They then talk about the sports different playoff types and why the NHL playoffs are the best.  They take a shot of tequila and then talk about the Masters and Tiger Woods.  They talk about golfing for this year and mix in talk of premade drinks vs drinks made from scratch.  We talk about the poor service at a particular bar in town.  That leads into appropriate times to start drinking and camping.  Reality shows and gold digging is briefly discussed. We lose our train of thought so shift gears to talk about women logic and how some live vicariously through their young children.  They then talk about the upcoming Clutch show they will be attending.  Then talk of the end of the world and aliens wraps up the show.

It's another Thursday edition of the Drunken Logic Podcast.  The show starts out with the news that Zappy videos have returned to the internet!  You can see them again by going to the Drunken Logic YouTube Channel (link here) and the videos are displayed below this post as well.  We hope to add more videos as we get them!  They start out by recapping St. Patrick's day and talk of answering machines.  After a shot of tequila, stories of drinking tequila are then told. We then talk a bit about the band Clutch coming to Fargo and our excitement for that.  Sports is next up on the docket and we recap the WCHA tournament and the success the University of North Dakota had.  That leads into talk about the NFL and how commercialized it has gotten.  Darrick's brother, Dane, then arrives and joins the show. Talk of music then commences and then they talk about clothes and the things people wear today and once did.  That and lots more is discussed!

It's a Thursday Happy Hour edition of the Drunken Logic podcast and a long one, 4 hours long!  The show starts out with Rich talking about a road trip him and his friend took to see the band Zappy in the early '90's and how the song "Skoal Brothers" is etched in his brain because of it.  That leads into another story about some of the characters the guys use to hang out with.  That leads into a conversation about women and their purses.  We then turn their sites to the weather and weather forecasters and how they try to hype up storms.  Then talk about old time word/phrases and when you have an open microphone and people drinking near them.  We then talk a bit about the heritage of the citizens of North Dakota and that leads into some talk about how people were treated in the past.  They continue on to talk about some of the traditional foods of certain nationalities.  We then play one of our favorite games...pretend you are...this week we pretend we are the ruler of our own country and what our day would be like. We then talk about standardized tests, questions and interviews and getting a job.  Politics enter our conversation and we both have a few things to say about the politicians and politics in general.  Discussion then turns to oil and gas prices.  We then switch gears and talk about drugs which naturally leads right into why some women are better world leaders than others. We then are in full gear as we talk about drinking and being able to (try) and be coherent and able to drink. We discuss the club Darrick is president of, the Warriors Against Sleep.  Then sex and women talk comes to the table and how being married changes that dynamic.  We then talk about thieves and how western North Dakota is ripe turf for criminals and is the new wild, wild west and more oil talk.  We end the show with party time...we talk about a wide range of things including the band Clutch coming to Fargo.

We are back and it's a Sunday afternoon.  We start out talking about the Daytona 500 and NASCAR that was suppose to be taking place as we recorded.  We then go into the snowy weather we have been having and then talk a bit about snowmobiling.  That leads right into activities you can still do and it's socially acceptable to drink during, which then goes into a lengthy discussion about bowling.  We then talk about mini-golf for a bit.  Then we go into steroids which somehow morphs into a discussion about women and their motherly traits.  Then a discussion about homosexuals takes place that covers a wide range of talking points.  Then we talk about beers and primarily micro brewed beers that are "hoppy".  We then talk about credit cards and how a person is lured into tremendous debt.  That leads into a discussion about DirecTV.  We then talk about aliens, crop circles, out space and lots of topics we don't know much about.  We wrap the show up talking about unions in which we have different ideas about.  It is a good time!

It's Friday night edition of the Drunken Logic Podcast.  Krista, Darrick's girlfriend, joins the guys in the studio.  The show starts out with the guys discussing how potheads seem to have a lot of free time and skill that they devote to building and cleaning pipes. We then go into talking about movies that aren't shown on television often, but are great movies...like the movie Heavy Metal.  We talk about Valentine's Day for a bit. We talk about the crime in the oil patch in western ND and how it is the modern day wild, wild west.  Briefly talk about Whitney Houston, drugs and other celebrities dying.  We talk about old game shows for a bit.  Women not drinking an entire drink at parties.  We talk about guys that want to get into fights. We talk about good house parties of the old day and the various areas that would be occupied by certain types of people.  Simple pleasures that you can no longer do...riding in the back of a pickup, merry-go-rounds.  Crime in Fargo and how armed robberies are on the rise and the police don't seem to care.  We take a break and come back and talk about when you think you are invincible and when you begin to feel the effects of age.  We talk about crappy 80's cars. We talk a bit about the music industry and record albums.  We then talk about karaoke night at bars and the type of people that do that.  That leads right into our thoughts on rock music today and seeing live shows.

There's all that and lots more in close to a 3 hour show!

Drunken Logic Podcast - Episode II - 021212

This show starts out with us talking about the high tech recording of the Zappy music that we use for our show.  We then quickly move into sports...recapping the Super Bowl, which then leads, of course into the  NHL and then the USHL gets sprinkled in which, naturally, leads right into a complete chronology of the University of North Dakota (UND) Fighting Sioux nickname battle is given and how the state of North Dakota could possibly end up suing the NCAA over the use of the nickname.  Which then leads into talk of the WCHA dissolving and UND joining a new hockey super conference. Lots of non-ice, hockey talk from the top down.  We wrap the show talking about playing sports and people that sandbag in leagues and dis Canada a bit.

We may not get a show up for a couple of weeks but we'll make every effort to get a show up as soon as possible.

Here we are! Episode I has finally landed!


It's been a long wait, we are in a new (temporary) studio and it's Super Bowl Sunday. After introducing our, the greatest, drinking game we talk a bit about Super Bowl party memories.  We quickly go over some events since we last got together.  Get riled up about the police, oil, money, greed and the exploitation of the working class.  We are just getting started!

Welcome to our new web site and the (somewhat) first episode of Drunken Logic!  Rich and Darrick are your hosts and are joined by their friend John and also, later in the show, Dane.  On this episode, while they are drinking, they first recap Darrick's ill's and new job then focus on the NFL, recap their picks against the spread and make their NFL picks for the upcoming weekend.  Of course disappointing talk about the Chargers and Bills and their recent woes is discussed.  After that, the guys continue to talk about a convenience store in Bismarck, ND for some time...why, I guess why not?
